Facers, which are applied to all Atlas polyiso foam insulation products, are designed to serve the end uses of the various sheathing products. Foil based facings, such as used on Energy Shield and Energy Shield Plus, are especially designed primarily to assist in the preservation of the thermal properties of the sheathings. Coated facings, such as used on Rboard and Stucco Shield, are designed to resist handling abuses, provide a more rigid surface, provide a non-reflective surface and on Stucco Shield, provide a very compatible surface for the application of various synthetic stucco coating products.
