Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic operational leadership to all environmental health and safety matters in assigned facilities; ensure programs are implemented effectively; and operations are in compliance with company, OSHA, and other governmental guidelines and regulations. The goal is zero accidents.
  • Contribute to the strategic and tactical direction of senior management team.
  • Provide leadership, and managerial and technical guidance for all operations of the Roof & Wall Insulation Products Division, including a clear definition of accountabilities and the means to measure performance.
  • Accountable for the quality, service, and cost of the plants in the division.
  • Responsible for the development of annual business plans for the division, and the implementation of the business plan.
  • Work closely with Vice President of Roof & Wall Insulation - Sales and Marketing for the satisfaction of market needs and objectives.
  • Lead the Technical direction and resources for new product development ideas for future growth opportunities.
  • Provide strategic leadership, managerial and technical guidance to all operations to ensure process changes and improvements are identified and implemented, and ensure quality control.
  • Provide insight and direction to establish realistic goals and objectives to reduce the cost of operations, improve productivity, enhance product quality and delivery performance, as well as optimize operational techniques to leverage competitive advantages in the market.
  • Determine capital expenditures, authorizes equipment and plant modifications and maintenance, and protect the physical assets.
  • Ensure Roof & Wall Insulation facilities meet the environmental codes as established by Atlas Roofing Corporation, State and/or Federal requirements.
  • Ensure Roof & Wall Insulation facilities meet established requirements of governmental agencies with regard to current laws and regulations (EEO, OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Develop and implement a multi-plant level-operating plan that maximizes revenues, profits, and productivity improvements.
  • Provide insight and direction to Corporate Engineering and Research and Development. 


  • Ten (10) to Fifteen (15) years of manufacturing experience in a multi-plant technologically advanced manufacturing environment

  • Knowledgeable of Continuous Improvement techniques and methods to communicate Key Performance Indicators to drive results.
  • High energy, hands-on, customer-facing and entrepreneurial leadership ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Establishes credibility and rapport within the manufacturing organization and the Company
  • Culturally sensitive change agent with demonstrated ability to conceptualize, develop and implement effective world class manufacturing initiatives that are visionary, practical, flexible and serves the Company in total
  • Hands on self-starter able to work with minimal staff support
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Email, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft)

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, and/or business is required
  • An advanced degree (Masters or MBA) is strongly desired

Additional Information

  • Directly manages division plant managers and product technology
  • Indirectly manages all hourly and salary employees at the plants and research and development location
