Quality Assurance Manager

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to Atlas’ safety policies and procedures; drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety and housekeeping; communicate safety message with focus on developing zero injury culture
  • Manage and direct programs to ensure quality production from raw material sourcing through in-process and final inspection
  • Promote and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports; ensure quality systems are utilized to provide a consistent product that meets manufacturing specifications
  • Recruit, interview, and select qualified staff
  • Support and sustain a culture where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation, and effective utilization of resources; ensure workforce is trained in respective job duties
  • Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output
  • Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in product development projects
  • Assist in inspection and testing of all finished products and raw materials to ensure that meet Atlas and UL specifications
  • Perform calibrations on production and lab equipment
  • Assist with product/process improvement projects by collecting, analyzing, and reporting results
  • Develop and maintain product standards; monitor product changes
  • Maintain reports and record test results in PeopleSoft and Access database
  • Perform claim analysis to disposition claims
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits
  • Develop training material and facilitate training on quality standards and activities
  • Coordinate projects with other departments
  • Travel, as required, to other Atlas’ facilities, claim visits, customers, vendors, and suppliers


  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality a fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, including macros, pivot tables, charts, statistical and financial analysis
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, and, present information and effectively communicate with groups of managers, customers, employees, and/or the general public
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to bring about consensus in areas of conflict
  • Takes responsibility to resolve customer issues; responds to customer requests in a timely manner
  • Strong analytical skills

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in related field required.
  • Master's degree in business or technical area highly desirable.
  • CQE or CQM from ASQ or equivalent preferred
