Primary Responsibilities

  • Formulation Chemistry Management -Develops improvements in the formulation to both improve the properties of the finished product and lower the cost wherever possible
  • Processing Controls for Manufacturing Operation -Establishes the processing specifications for the manufacturing operation including temperatures, flow rates, line speeds and local pounds per square foot targets
  • Management of Quality and Manufacturing procedures -Develops new procedures and revises existing quality and manufacturing procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (PSM, OSHA, UL and FM)
  • Customer Complaint Investigation and Resolution -Contributes to the resolution of the customer complaints including the necessary changes within the plant manufacturing operation to prevent future occurrences of the same condition Regulatory Agency Compliance
  • Regulatory Agency Compliance -Ensures that the measurement equipment is routinely calibrated with traceability to National Bureau of Standards
  • Development of new processing techniques -Works with the Division Support Manager in the development of improved processing and test techniques
  • Performs other assignments as required by the Plant Manager

Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 5 to 10 years of Management or Supervisor experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong abilities in the use of PC’s and related software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access and Power Point
  • Knowledge of data entry systems such as Peoplesoft, Oracle, etc
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly (both orally and written) to personnel from a variety of functional areas
  • Anticipates requirements and completes tasks without direction or close supervision
  • Knowledge in SPC, data and trend analysis
  • Organization, communication, confidentiality, and problem solving

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • Two year degree in Science, Chemistry or technical discipline is desired
  • Bachelor degree in Science, Chemistry or other technical discipline is desired
