Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, configuration, integration, implementation and documentation of standardized process control and instrumentation solutions for the division.
  • Assist with the support of the Lot Control roll management system utilizing Malcolm Ware. Set operational guidelines and procedures for barcode scanner interfaces, label printers and other interfaces with Malcolmware and Peoplesoft.
  • Drive standardization of system design, hardware and software for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).
  • Manage new control systems and manage existing systems and propose modifications that will make the systems more efficient and/or reduce costs.
  • Define, establish and set operational guidelines, requirements and standards for instrumentation and control systems for all Divisions linked to operational support, performance metrics, quality metrics and interdepartmental relationship expectations.
  • Ensure instrumentation and control systems support configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting including process controls, system hardware, and related software (i.e. PLC/DCS/SCADA).
  • Monitor and track performance utilizing key performance indicators. Investigate operational problems and implements corrective actions.
  • Create and maintain systems that promote safety and comply with all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Assist to develop capital expense plans and help manage projects that support continuous improvement and asset enhancements.
  • Manage project execution and time lines, coordinate team members, report progress and manage expectations, risks and issues.
  • Track and report process improvement savings and benefits.
  •  Will involve travel to plant sites (up to 25%).

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proven track record in process improvement and cost reductions
  • Proven experience and success with Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies required
  • Experience with 6 Sigma business strategies desired

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate clearly (both orally and written) to personnel from a variety of functional areas
  • Professional presentation to represent Atlas Web to vendors, contractors, and customers.
  • Fluent in English (Reading, Writing, Speaking)
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Advanced math skills (able to do statistical analysis, budgeting and forecasting)
  • Able to use tape measure and calipers
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Email, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft)
  • Able to analyze costs, benefits, risk and success of a decision
  • Identify concepts and issues of a problem
  • Apply sound judgment and reason to a solution
  • Openly communicates and shares ideas and opinions and encourages other to do so
  • Takes responsibility to resolve a customer issue and responds in a timely manner
  • Generates new ideas and strategies and provides innovative solutions to problems

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business

  • The employee is frequently required to sit and use hand to finger (key or write), handle, or feel.
  • The employee is required to travel which includes driving long distances and traveling by airplane for extended periods of time.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, bend and reach with hands and arms in office and manufacturing settings.
  • The work environment may vary dependent upon project assignments which could range from extreme cold to extreme heat.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds or more.
