Assure good housekeeping practices, enforce plant rules and safety regulations, counsel employees, document performance issue and consistently apply the provisions of the labor contract.
Complete thorough and timely accident reports, as required.
Contact the appropriate Manager or support staff regarding non-routine issues.
Make sure existing plant systems for production and maintenance are used appropriately, and all tasks from their shift are completed before hand-off to the incoming shift.
Ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
Assist with coordination of autonomous and preventive maintenance activities. Initiate and document proper paperwork, such as repair work orders on plant equipment. Help ensure accurate parts inventory through the maintenance planning system.
Assign and maintain work flow, check progress and quality of work, assist employees in the course of their daily work activities and assure compliance with production schedules.
Investigate and eliminate production variability resulting in downtime and/or below standard measurements to determine remedial action.
Implement and sustain good housekeeping practices.
Direct supervision of approximately 20 hourly employees.
Coordinate handling of employee grievances with Superintendent and HR, as required.
Handle administrative functions during shift, including attendance, timesheets, receiving, production, and quality reports.
Participate in focused improvement projects.
Complete production reports, including product output, run rates, waste, and downtime.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing environment
2 years’ supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in fast-paced environment.
Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite, Email, and other computer software systems.
Significant problem solving situations involve changes in products, processes, equipment, production or shipping schedules and personnel in a manner which will maintain or improve production efficiency, improve safety, product quality and customer satisfaction.
Education, Licenses & Certification
High school diploma or equivalent.
