Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs physical testing on product.  Compares results to published standards and issues reports of findings. (Line checks and Final tests for thickness, density, green k-test and freezer dimensional stability)
  • Perform facer checks as required.
  • Inspects product appearance, packaging, and markings using appropriate guides.
  • Monitors process parameters and provide feedback to the operators and management.
  • Operates lab equipment.
  • Collects samples from production and test runs.
  • Disposes of test remnants to appropriate areas.
  • Participates in plant programs, such as safety and housekeeping.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.
  • Regular, consistent physical attendance.

Experience

  • Previous quality technician experience in manufacturing environment. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to use mathematical concepts as required in performing job duties, such as fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.
  • Ability to effectively read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to reason.  Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to solve problems involving several variables.
  • Must be PC literate and able to learn to operate the PC using the Peoplesoft Quality Software.

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Licensed to operate a forklift.

Additional Information

  • Any other work related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor that may include heavy lifting (up to 60 lbs.), deep bending, climbing, sweeping, shoveling and other cleanup tasks.
