Primary Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems on company equipment
  • Performs routine inspections of boiler feed water quality and adjusts chemical doses as required
  • Performs routine inspections of cooling tower water systems and adjusts chemical doses as required
  • Installs plumbing for all utilities(gas, compresses air, water)in a good workmanship-like manner
  • Upgrades, modifies, or installs new production equipment as required
  • Coordinates with maintenance lead and operations manager to acquire additional inventory required to complete an assignment
  • Takes care of tools and equipment and prevents damage
  • Obtains hot work permits as necessary
  • Understands and performs lock out/tag out of machine
  • Participates in safety related events
  • Ensures all safety requirements are being followed. Notifies management of any unsafe conditions and/or acts
  • Embraces and works on continuous improvement through utilization of lean principles such as "5S"
  • Helps ensure walkways, exit rows and fire extinguishers are kept clear
  • Completes required records and work orders. Ensures they are accurate, neat, legible and timely
  • Keeps area clean and orderly at all times; cleans machines as necessary
  • Works necessary hours as determined by management to complete tasks, including weekday overtime and weekends
  • Performs outside(SWPPP) clean-up as requested
  • Performs other related tasks/projects as requested by supervisor/Seeks supervisor for work assignments during downtime
  • Attends formal training as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Manager/Operations Manager

Experience

  • Preferred experience and/or certification with boiler and cooling water systems
  • Knowledge of various material-handling equipment preferred
  • Current Atlas EPS Forklift/HILO certification

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret any documents, including blueprints/schematics
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Effective time management skills to meet time sensitive requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed, technical literature(Instructions, troubleshooting guides, repair procedures,etc)
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in welding(MIG/TIG) on variety of metals
  • Ability to analyze cost, benefit chances for success and risk of a decision
  • Applies sound judgement and reason to the solutions to problems
  • Thinks outside the norm/ Is open to new ideas
  • Follows through with projects in a timely manner
  • Anticipates what needs to be done and proceeds without direction/Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to communicate clearly-both orally and written
  • Basic math skills with ability to read tape measaure/calipers and utilize metric scale
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, searaches, etc
  • Willingness to work with others/Supports the goals of the team
  • Follows all company policies and procedures
  • Follows all company safety and Quality Assurance rules and regulations
  • Openly communicates and shares ideas/Provides relevant and timely information in a clear manner

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • High school Diploma or GED; Some Trade School desired
