Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to Atlas’ safety policies and procedures.  Know and communicate safety message with focus on developing zero injury culture.
  • Lead environmental and safety regulatory and compliance inspections and recommend corrective or preventive measures where appropriate.
  • Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are completed on time and all required reports are submitted before mandated deadlines.
  • Manage OSHA/Environmental regulatory reporting, record keeping requirements and maintain documentation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all OSHA/Environmental required safety training programs and additional training programs.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies and divisional personnel to direct health and safety efforts. 
  • Management of worker’s compensation cases with Human Resources.
  • Assist in coordination and management of Industrial Hygiene Monitoring program.
  • Lead safety investigations and improvement programs.
  • Perform employee safety coaching and hazard recognition training.


  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional plant level experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and related standards and regulations.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including fluency in English required. 
  • Ability to read, analyze , and interpret technical procedures, government regulations; and present information and effectively communicate with groups of managers, customers, employees, and/or general public. 
  • Training and group presentation experience.
  • Self-motivated with ability to prioritize goals and objectives with minimum supervision. 
  • Knowledge of all applicable federal, state and local building codes and safety regulations is required. 

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) in related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional plant level experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong Knowledge of OSHA and related standards and regulations.
