Primary Responsibilities

  • Must perform all job duties safely and in accordance with Plant rules and regulations
  • Responsible for good housekeeping in areas of responsibility, including the storeroom and receiving areas
  • Manage the Stores Administrator which includes leading, training, and directing daily activities
  • Act as relief Stores Administrator which includes purchasing authority for all stores equipment and activities
  • Required to produce daily, weekly, 2-week, and down day work schedules for the Maintenance Technicians
  • Leads down day and critical failure critique meetings to determine root cause and corrective actions
  • Utilize MaintScape CMMS for the development of Work Orders, scheduling of Mill Rights, Preventative Maintenance, and stores inventory.  This individual will be trained and be responsible for the training of others on use of the system
  • Manage Fork Truck Fleet at the Roofing and Felt Mill.  The position will also be required to pass the OSHA Forklift trainer.  In addition, this position will act as, along with the Maintenance Supervisor, the plant forklift trainer
  • Relieve Maintenance Supervisor during absences which entails the supervision of 14 Technicians, their safety, emergency call-ins, and quality of work
  • Development and maintaining of equipment specific Bills of Materials (BOM’s) and the inventory of all spare parts
  • Responsible for the optimization of the storeroom which includes the removal of obsolete parts and routine cycle counting of parts
  • Provide security for the storeroom inventory
  • Track and report on critical KPI’s to measure performance (Schedule compliance, Emergency Work Orders, Work from PM’s, etc.)
  • Direct daily meetings with Maintenance Supervisor and Production Supervisors to review schedule and prioritize work orders.
  • Assist in writing job plans for all Maintenance activities.  This includes the development of the JSA program for the Maintenance Department
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis Teams for repeat or critical failures of equipment
  • Attend All Safety meetings and ensure the Storeroom Administrator receives all applicable training
  • Work closely with the Plant Superintendent on optimizing the use of Contractors to achieve both compliance for inspections and optimizing the use of the available maintenance staff.
  • Work closely with the Plant Engineer on the coordination of Contractor work in the facility
  • Manage and responsible for the completion of all required safety inspections in accordance to the Plant Safety Program
  • Responsible for the thorough completion of all other activities that are assigned by Management


  • Minimum three (3) years working in Production/Manufacturing Environment preferably in a Shingle Manufacturing facility.

  • Communication -Ability to provide relevant and timely information in a clear manner both verbally and in writing.
  • Follow Through – Fulfills the requirements of the position as described. Follow-through on completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner. Anticipates what needs to be done and proceeds without direction in a timely manner.
  • Problem Solving – Ability to think through issues and develop solutions in a timely manner.
  • Language-Must be able to speak fluent English.                 
  • Mathematical abilities- Basic math skills required 
  • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet, email (Lotus Notes), misc.
  • Must possess an exemplary attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • High School Diploma required.
