Primary Responsibilities

  • Hands on experience working with, and knowledge of electrical 3-phase wiring, installation and repair of machinery up to at least 480 volts
  • Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical manufacturing machinery
  • Knowledge and experience troubleshooting and programming PLC’s, ladder/relay logic and VFD’s
  • Knowledge and experience with A.B. Studio 5000, RS Logix500, RS logix5000, Control logix, Panel view, HMI configurations
  • Machine repair and preventative maintenance; must be able to perform this independently in many cases.
  • Modification, installation of equipment or process improvements
  • Project management, including, selection, installation and startup of minor equipment purchases
  • Facilities maintenance; e.g., lighting, building modifications, grounds maintenance
  • Must be able to work independently and adhere to established safety standards.
  • Can work from and interpret blueprints, and/or schematics (electric, hydraulic and pneumatic)
  • Fabricate and/or install electrical components, MCC’s, power wiring, controls, etc.
  • Fabricate and/or install mechanical components, welding, grinding, burning outfit
  • Competent in the use of electrical test equipment, VOM, Amp clamp, etc.
  • Operate forklifts, hi-reach
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Regular, consistent physical attendance

Experience

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant maintenance experience including 480V 3PH, 110V, low voltage, control loops, troubleshooting and programming PLC’s, ladder logic, VFD’s, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to forecasting and other practical situations
  • Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve problems involving several variables in standardized situations

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school

Additional Information

  • Any other work related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor that may include heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs.), deep bending, sweeping, shoveling and other cleanup tasks
