Maintenance Manager

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe working conditions and practices through utilization of good housekeeping, employee training, and OSHA safety compliance.
  • Develop and oversee, preventative maintenance plans and repair schedules.
  • Ability to develop and build a proactive maintenance system utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Maintain all equipment requiring routine, emergency, or preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor expenditures to remain within budgeted projections, as well as make recommendations in regard to long term needs.
  • Work closely with all department heads as to the needs, schedules and repairs to equipment in their departments.
  • Troubleshoot problems and recommend solutions.
  • Schedule, coordinate and supervise maintenance personnel.
  • Recommend, review, and contact outside contractors for work in and on the facility and equipment.
  • Travel occasionally to other Atlas facilities, training, and to visit vendors.


  • 7 - 10 years of in maintenance department.
  • 5 - 10 years supervisory experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Strong Electrical experience required.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC's).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Prior experience in a Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma environment with demonstrated a demonstrated record of implementing change, driving cost improvements, and increasing efficiencies.
  • Requires excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Computer skills needed - Excel, Word, PeopleSoft, MaintScape or other CMMS.

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • Some college preferred in a technical related field but will consider previous experience.
