Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for timely and accurate processing, balancing, auditing and completion for all assigned pay processing groups.
  • Serves as the primary analyst responsible for uploading, balancing and troubleshooting data files containing earnings, deductions or payroll memo related data.
  • Works collaboratively with payroll management and team members to modify and enhance payroll tools necessary to meet organizational control and documentation requirements.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of their work.
  • Responsible for all payroll tax deposits/filings for both USD and CAD payrolls
  • Works closely with the HR organization with regards to: bonus calculations, financial data for bonus program, and calculation of fringe benefit rates, manual adjustments to benefit plans, leave of absence payments, process off cycle checks.
  • Accurately and timely responds to business data needs creating Ad Hoc reports or participates in formal report creation as needed.
  • Responsible for month-end closing, quarter and year-end processes.
  • Test and implementation PeopleSoft / ADP functional enhancements and tax updates
  • Tax reconciliation for W-2s and Canada’s T-4’s
  • Funding for 401k and RRSP to third party vendor
  • Transmit positive pay and ACH direct deposit files
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum 2-3 years related work experience in accounting and/or payroll administration.
  • Work experience using an ERP computer system is beneficial.

Education, Licenses & Certification

  • A four-year degree in Accounting or Business related field from an accredited college or university preferred or applicable work experience.

  • Skill in researching, evaluating and analyzing technical payroll activities
  • Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, regulations and procedures
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal payroll and related tax regulations, legislation and guidelines including, but not limited to: writs of garnishment, child support and levies
  • Ability to manage complex and competing priorities, attentive to detail and highly organized
