ACFoam-IV - A High Performance Product From A High Performance Company

March 31st, 2010

Atlas Roofing Corporation, a pioneer in the manufacturing of “green” polyiso roofing products, has recorded another significant first with the development of their new ACFoam®-IV polyiso roof insulation. Atlas is the only polyiso roof insulation manufacturer that manufactures its own polyiso facers, so it’s not surprising that their vertical integration has produced technology that leads the field. ACFoam®-IV is the most dimensionally stable roof insulation board in the industry. It has not cupped, warped or shrunk under laboratory or normal installation conditions.
ACFoam®-IV is a closed-cell polyiso foam core roofing insulation integrally laminated to extra heavy durable and dimensionally stable coated glass facers. Thanks to this facer technology, cover boards are no longer needed in corners and perimeter areas to meet FM Approval’s wind uplift requirements in Hurricane Zones.

FM approved wind uplift ratings for ACFoam®-IV in a fully adhered roof system range from FM 1-90 to FM 1-345, which is the highest wind rating available for roofing insulation adhered directly to singly ply membranes. This means that insulation heights do not have to be adjusted to accommodate for cover boards and specified LTTR-values, and that roofers no longer need to handle heavy cover boards.

Offered in a variety of thicknesses designed to meet or exceed ASHRAE 90.1-2007, ACFoam®-IV provides LTTR (Long Term Thermal Resistance) values ranging from 6.0 to 25.0, reducing energy demands while still maintaining compatibility with all types of roofing membranes and fire assemblies. ACFoam®-IV is typically specified for BUR, modified bitumen, and single ply membrane systems. And like all Atlas polyiso products, ACFoam®-IV is CFC- and HCFC- free, which means that the foam blowing has zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and negligible Global Warming Potential (GWP).
