In the traditionally male-dominated world of roofing, more and more women continue to defy stereotypes and make their mark on the industry. While still a minority, women in roofing are gradually gaining visibility and support through open conversations and focused industry associations like National Women in Roofing (NWIR). Thanks to these efforts and individual perseverance, the Atlas community is witnessing a growing number of women assuming key decision-making roles, from managing manufacturing plants to owning their own roofing businesses. While continuing to challenge traditional norms and transform the sector's landscape, there is still progress to be made, as females represent only about 5 percent of the roofing industry today.

Though their backgrounds are distinct, women in roofing share a common thread of resilience and determination in the face of adversity. From navigating gender biases to overcoming familial expectations, these women demonstrate the power of perseverance and self-belief in achieving success in male-dominated domains. By breaking barriers and challenging norms, these women are not only reshaping the roofing industry but also paving the way for a more diverse and empowered workforce across all sectors.
