Why Hydration Is Imperative in Summer Heat

Daily hydration is essential to human health, but it’s even more critical when summer is, well... summering. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Summer 2023 is expected to be hotter than average across most of the US.

Combine those extreme temperatures and humidity with being on top of a roof, wearing protective gear, and dehydration is inevitable. In fact, many workers can sweat out more than a quart and a half of water per hour on the job. And if that water isn’t simultaneously being replenished, workers are at significant risk for developing heat-related illnesses.
